Below you’ll find Marlee's poetry along with my own illustration! When Marlee asked if she could use my illustrations to accompany her poems I wasn't sure at first. Those illustrations of mine are like my babies, so much so that I barely sell any of them because they are truly a part of me. Though after taking a moment to sit down and read her poems, I was taken aback by how perfectly they speak to my own creations. It's like her and I were on the same wavelength without knowing it.

Marlee was born and raised in Washington but she is not exactly your typical Washington girl. She has been through a lot, and when I say a lot....I mean a lot. I've never met someone quite like her. One of the reasons I feel that her poems speak so elegantly along side my illustrations is because we both have not only a sense of fearlessness about what we have to say, but create with a conviction that connects with you when you feel like you can't say it for yourself quite yet.
